On Becoming a New Human

Part I

In the beginning

of your soul’s formation,

in the darkness of unknowable possibility,

a single thought arose in

the mind of

God.

This set in motion

the creation of a universe

so that Life could

know itself as

you.

You, my dear,

are the purpose of this world.

You are the miracle that God prayed for

in the beginning

of time.

You do not require a reason for living,

to justify your existence here,

for you are the reason

that life has

come.

You are the reason

that God made language.

You are the reason water was invented.

You are the reason the stars appear at night.

You are the reason the flowers unfold their beauty.

You are the reason for all that has

come into being.

All the gifts of this universe

are giving themselves to you right now.

Receive them

with your most noble reception.

Part II

A spark

of understanding

remains hidden in the depths

until one has the courage and sensitivity

to take root so deeply in the rich dark soil of being,

to be so humbled and consumed by the mystery,

to dive so far into the unlit underground

that the flickering filament

can be perceived

at all

and thus be

united with the seeing.

When this happens,

a new universe

is conceived.

To become a new human

is not to become a different or transformed person.

To become a new human is to become a passageway

through which this new universe is born,

finally born into

Reality.

And then,

finding OneSelf

in this real-ized creation,

One takes up residence Here,

graciously receiving Divine fruits flowing forth

and rooted in the fertile ground of

eternal presence.
